Eat Responsibly. Act Responsibly.

Eat Responsibly.

We strive to offer consumers delicious comfort foods made from all-natural and organic ingredients that were grown by farmers who respect the environment.  Natural and organic foods are now widely available, and consumers have the choice to support organic growers and promote a future of healthier families and a healthier planet.  We hope you’ll "Think Organic" the next time you shop at your local grocery store.

Act Responsibly.

As a responsible corporate citizen, we strive to be as green as possible in our business practices and to support students and organizations committed to the same ideals through our Community Giving and Sustainable Agriculture Scholarship programs.

Here’s how we are lessening our bunny footprint….

Real Ingredients

Annie’s chooses natural and organic ingredients from family farmers who share our deep respect for the earth and environment.  We support more than 75 organic family farms.

Read more about why organic is better for the earth.

Packaging

From boxes to cartons to cans, Annie’s chooses packaging materials that are friendly to our Earth.  All of our packages are made with some recycled content, and all of them can be tossed in the recycling bin.  We use post-consumer recycled materials whenever possible.  The cartons for our macaroni & cheese, Cheddar Bunnies and Bunny Grahams are made from 100% recycled paper fiber with a minimum of 35% post-consumer content.*  Did you know that Annie’s boxes can be recycled five times before the fibers become too short to make more paperboard?  Not to mention all of the creative ways you can reuse our boxes as bookmarks, canvases for masterpieces, and gift boxes too.

*Recycled Content = Reusing manufacturing/industrial waste. Post-Consumer Content = Finished goods that have been recycled and reused (i.e, newspapers, boxes, cans, etc.).

Eco Energy

Annie’s offsets the carbon dioxide emissions from our corporate headquarters, manufacturing facilities, distribution warehouse and our mobile tour.  Here’s how it works- after determining our energy usage and carbon output, we provide funds to NativeEnergy, which in turn builds wind farms.  Our commitment directly helps fund the construction of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe of St. Francis Wind Farm in South Dakota.

This website is powered by eco-energy too!  Our web hosting company buys credits of wind power to offset the energy we use for keeping the site running.

We invite our friends everywhere to take the same proactive approach and visit www.NativeEnergy.com to offset your travel, auto, home or business emissions by helping to build new renewable energy projects that reduce the amount of fossil fuels used to generate electricity.

At the Office

At our offices in California, we use paper stock made from 30% recycled fiber.  And, in our mailroom, you’ll find packing peanuts that actually biodegrade.  What’s next?  Maybe office compost piles?  Or a worm bin?

Let us know your ideas.

On the Road

When Annie’s is out on the road at events, we use spoons and forks made from bioplastics, a kind of plastic derived from renewable raw materials such as corn, potato and soy protein.  Our plates and cups are made from sugar-cane waste.  Unlike traditional disposable dinnerware, these products aren’t made with petroleum byproduct, which means the production process is not hazardous to the environment.  Plus, they’re completely compostable!  The EPA estimates that more than 137 BILLION disposable plates end up in landfills each year.  Imagine if they could all break down instead of sticking around for generations to come?
