We use organic wheat in our macaroni and cheese, pretzels, crackers and cookies. Durum wheat is a specific variety that we use to make the pasta for our macaroni and cheese. Most of this wheat is grown by farmers in the American northern plains where the climate and conditions are ideal for wheat cultivation. In 2011, we took a trip to Montana to meet a few of the farmers who grew organic durum wheat for us that year. Here’s a little footage from our trip that we hope you enjoy. Thanks to their generous hospitality, we had wonderful conversations around the table and in the fields.
