NAPA, Calif. – March 9, 2007 – Bernie the Rabbit, the beloved mascot of Annie’s Homegrown, is taking a seat around the breakfast table with a new line of yummy, low fat breakfast cereals! Annie’s Homegrown, the nation’s leading brand of organic and natural pasta meals and snacks, debuted its line of cereal, expanded snack offerings and an addition to its organic macaroni & cheese selection at this week’s Natural Products Expo West show in Anaheim, Calif.
With its new line, Annie’s now is packing wholesome goodness into breakfast cereals made from whole grains such as oats and corn, with 70 percent organic ingredients and 0 grams of trans or saturated fats. Three flavor varieties and kid-friendly shapes offer a whole new way to enjoy Annie’s.
“As a mom, I know it’s hard to find healthy cereals that kids love to eat,” said Annie Withey, founder of Annie’s. “That’s why we’ve paid special attention to creating a fun, tasty cereal that’s made with the same quality ingredients our consumers have come to expect. Like all Annie’s offerings, our new cereal line tastes great with no artificial anything.”
The new cereal line includes:
• Annie’s Bunny Love Toasted Oat and Corn Cereal
• Annie’s Honey Bunnies Toasted Oat and Corn Cereal
The suggested retail price for Annie’s cereals is $3.99 per box. The products will begin shipping in July 2007 and will be on shelves in fall 2007 wherever Annie’s Homegrown products are sold, including supermarkets, natural and organic food stores, club stores, mass merchants and online in all 50 U.S. states and Canada.
Also new at Expo West is a snack pack tray of six, 1-oz packages of Chocolate Chip Bunny Grahams. The new snack builds on the popularity of Annie’s Bunny Grahams line, America’s best-selling, all-natural animal-shaped cookie. The bite-sized, bunny-shaped treats now can be more easily packed for enjoyment anywhere, anytime. Bunny Grahams are all-natural and delicious, made with organic wheat flour and evaporated cane juice. The suggested retail price of one six-pack tray is $3.79.
In addition to the new cereal line and snack pack tray, Annie’s Homegrown is launching a certified-organic version of its new Macaroni & Cheese with classic mild cheddar. Featuring a creamy, buttery taste and an elbow-shaped pasta that kids love, Annie’s uses only the best ingredients, such as 100 percent real organic cheese and organic wheat. The suggested retail price of the 6-oz, certified-organic version is $1.89.
Other major introductions by Annie’s to date in 2007 include an all-natural version of Macaroni & Cheese with classic mild cheddar, and the conversion of all pasta in its 11 traditional macaroni & cheese products to certified organic. Annie’s currently offers more than 50 products, including: Natural Mac & Cheese; Certified-Organic Mac & Cheese; Cheddar Bunnies; Bunny Grahams; Deluxe Mac & Cheese; Microwaveable Macaroni & Cheese; Certified-Organic Skillet Meals; Totally Natural Pasta Meals; and Certified-Organic Canned Meals.
