Most of the organic cheese in our organic macaroni and cheese products is sourced from Organic Valley, a farmer-owned cooperative made up of more than 1,800 farmers across the country. In 2017, we visited with some of the Organic Valley dairy farmers located in Northern California. We enjoyed getting to know these farmers, learning about their family histories and interest in organic farming, and how they serve as stewards of the land through ecologically-based farming practices. We also got up close and personal with their dairy herds. Those calves are just too darn cute! Here’s a little video we put together to bring some of their stories to you.

Meet Victor, an Organic Valley Dairy Farmer in Orland, CA
My name is Victor, and I’m an Organic Valley dairy farmer in Orland, CA. My family has been farming for over six generations. We farm organically because we want our pasture lands chemical free, and we want to raise our cows the way nature intended and the way our grandparents did, on pasture. This allows us to produce the healthiest milk possible. We have a mix of Holstein and Jersey cows, and they produce milk that goes into the cheddar cheese used in Annie’s products. I’m proud to be an organic farmer for Annie’s because we feed our kids Annie’s products, and we only give our kids the best.
Meet Gillian, an Organic Valley Dairy Farmer in Petaluma, CA
My name is Gillian, and I’m an Organic Valley dairy farmer in Petaluma, CA.
My husband Garry and I have been farming since 1989. We farm organically because we can enable the land to enrich itself, while providing a stress-free, healthy environment for our cows to live in. We have 200 cows, and they produce milk that goes into the cheddar cheese used in Annie’s products. I’m proud to be an organic farmer for Annie’s because they are a totally committed group who care about our environment now and for years to come, just like we do!
Meet Lillyanna & Joseph: Organic Valley Farm Kids
Our names are Lillyanna and Joseph, and our families have an Organic Valley dairy farm in Orland, CA. Our family has been farming all the way back to our great, great, great grandparents. We farm organically because we don’t want any bad chemicals on our food. Our cows are happier because they live out on our pastures. We have Holstein cows (the black and white ones) and Jersey cows (the brown ones), and they produce milk that goes into the cheddar cheese used in Annie’s products. We are proud to be organic farmers for Annie’s because we love Annie’s products, and we want to share our organic milk with Annie’s!
